No other water in the US concentrates Atlantic sailfish like Florida's east coast from Miami to Stuart. The Gulf Stream runs within a mile of the beach in some conditions; on a cold front in January fish can be visible from the pier. October through April is the core window, with December through February being the peak. Kite fishing with live pilchards on circle hooks is the signature technique — boats run two kites off both sides and keep four to six baits working at all times. This is the standard that every sailfish fishery in the US gets measured against.

Where this comes from
Every window here is rolled up from the port calendars on this site, and each port page cites its sources. Peak means the port's sources call it the best stretch; fishable means the fish are around but not at their best. Water temperature and bait move these windows every year. Check state and federal regulations before you leave the dock. Not legal advice.
