Gulf sailfish are an underrated target. Galveston, Port Aransas, and South Padre all access the same sargassum-loaded current lines where mahi stack in spring, and sailfish are in that mix from March through June. Kite fishing over live bait produces the most consistent shots; a standard trolling spread with a live well works too. The Gulf gets less attention for sailfish than Florida, which means less pressure and more fish per boat on the days they are there.
