Florida snook are an inshore species that changes address with the seasons. Summer puts them at inlet mouths on spawn runs, stacked under lights at night and willing to hit topwater; winter cold fronts push them into warm-water discharges and deep canal mouths where they stack in the warmth. Palm Beach, Port Canaveral, and Stuart all have serious snook fishing. They run to 30-plus pounds, hit hard, and head straight for structure on the strike.
