The state briefing

Virginia Beach: two tuna seasons.

The Chesapeake Light Tower is about 13 miles out in the Virginia Beach guide. The winter bluefin zone extends roughly 20–50 miles from the tower toward the Fingers. That range is a route cue, not a single fishing spot; use the port’s run card to plan the day.

The calendar lists bluefin peaks in December through February, then yellowfin in August through October. Blue and white marlin peak in August and September. Change the target and rig with the season instead of treating “tuna season” as one block.
